In the middle of August, the Transdisciplinary Agora for Future Discussions (TAFFDs) hosted leading futurists from around the world during the 2022 Gen4IR Global Summit that took place in South Africa.
The 2022 Gen4IR Global Summit featured notable personalities, including industrial experts and scientists, who are keen on getting the best out of Africa’s future. The 2-day event took place at the Sun City resort, Johannesburg, South Africa. Notably, the main idea behind the gathering is to discuss ways in which Africa can be further developed.
Currently, Africa houses the youngest population on the planet, with an age bracket of 16 to 35. And this puts it in a better position – ahead of the rest of the world – to become a powerhouse of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Also, this goes without saying that African youth display incredible creativity in employing tools, skills, ideas, and experience in tackling real-life challenges.
As a result, TAFFDs deemed it fit to aggregate the vision of more than 3 billion bright minds from diverse fields. And it believes that, to secure the future of humankind and the world, it is important to understand the origin. Undoubtedly, the origin of humankind is its future.
With the introduction of new technological processes, the fourth industrial revolution is around the corner. As such, equipping the youthful population for this future is the wisest decision. Furthermore, great minds need to come together to ensure that empowerment is achieved.
Theme: Accelerating Our Singularity Future for Development in Africa
Prior to the event, TAFFD’s CEO, Brenda Kgomotsego Ramokopelwa said: “We are working with relevant authorities through our crucial government partners to ensure ease of travel to SA. The move of the summit to August will therefore offer the best chance for all participants to attend in person and maximize face-to-face interaction, networking opportunities, and planning productive endeavors for the future. ”
“The growing interest from the private and public sectors worldwide in our event will require full engagement by speakers and delegates. We will therefore use this time to offer regular context, podcasts, commentaries, and Zoom events that will educate, enlighten, and inspire about the prosperous future of Africa that the August summit will help unleash. We apologize for any inconvenience this move might have caused and hope to see you this August in South Africa. We thank you for your interest in the Gen4IR summit and hope you will engage with us as we lead up to our exciting event! ” – Ósìnàkáchì Ákùmà Kálù, founder at TAFFD’s.
